Opportunity: deliver simple, healthy food from locations close to office buildings
A few days ago, I decided to try out a new sandwich and salad place I had spotted some time ago near Victoriei square. The place looked great, the food simple, healthy and quite cheap.
I happened to get there around 13:30. I had to wait for about 20 minutes in line. They had no more forks. The staff was harried and shouting orders to one another. They couldn’t accommodate my vegetarian diet in any way.
I decided to stay and eat. They have a nice space to eat, with friendly, colorful chairs. In about 10 minutes, the crowd disappeared.
With most office workers taking lunch breaks at the same time, and an increased health awareness, it is easy to see why people would flock to such places. Why not take some additional space nearby for a kitchen, create a simple web-based order system, and deliver the food? Once people have had to wait in line for 15-20 minutes, they’ll be more than happy to grab a flier advertising the website. Deliver only to offices within 10 min walking distance from your kitchen. Offer a discount if people place their order before 11:30 AM and you can get more business per day.
Note: This is similar to the model that frufru.ro has implemented with great success.

[...] Who else thinks they’d be a good business in Bucharest as well? Based on my earlier experience with a very crowded health food diner in Victoriei square, I believe I’m not the only one. Tags:EcoBuild, Food and beverage, health food, lohas, London, sandwiches smoothie Related posts: [...]
