Update on “Collaborative Tools”
- Posted by Laura on March 26th, 2007 filed in Education, IT & Telecommunications
As Anca previously announced, we’ve just organized an international conference in Bucharest - “Collaborative Tools: Solutions for Improved Efficiency”, that is.
First impression? Well, I have to confess that it was great success (and I’m not only saying that because I was the conference manager) - everybody agreed with this - both from a content, and an organization standpoint.
As promised, the speakers brought to the audience attention he best business practices for using the latest IT solutions for better collaboration at work (inside the company, and between external partners). Steve made an intro and showed the importance of building a knowledge sharing culture, while Sara gave an insight in the latest advances in collaborative software (instant messaging, wikis, social bookmarking, and collaborative suites that integrate multiple functions). Sara also demonstrated the use of “Second Life” to conduct a virtual business meeting between SOPOLEC in Los Angeles and Neogen in Bucharest. Anca, our EU Funding aficionado, presented detailed information on the types of projects that will be financed by “Sructural Funds”, the eligibility criteria and success factors for project approval.
The conference also included discussions and case studies on mobile solutions and improving cross-border communication. And, as events are meant not just to be informative, but also a socializing opportunity, the conference ended with a networking cocktail for the participants, accompanied by live jazz.
Moreover, we promise you pictures and videos from the event - which will pe uploaded shortly on the conference website: www.sopolec.com/collaborativetools.
Enjoy!
