There are signs everywhere

Opportunity: Contracts to implement better signage
We are in London….beautiful London. We have a lot of meetings during the day and we have to go from one place to another. The city is very big, with a lot of means of transport that can be combined. You could easily get lost. However there are signs everywhere and it is almost impossible to get lost. There are signs in the metro, in the subway in the railway station, on the street…everywhere. And everything is explained so well that even the kids from the kindergarden would know how to find their way.

I remember first time I came in Bucharest and I traveled with the metro……I’m ashamed to say…but I got lost. The signs in Bucharest are obvious only for the people who travel all the time on that routes but not for someone who is for the first time in Bucharest. Even with the map in the hand you would need to attend first an orientation course and after that to take your chance and go explore.

There will be funds available in the near future in Romania (out of the Structural Funds) for comprehensive urban regeneration projects that may include creating and implementing signage systems for the cities and also for the touristic objectives. The projects could be developed in any other city from the country (not only in Bucharest).

There are also some specific funds under the Regional Operational Program for rehabilitation of touristic objectives and monuments. These projects could also include implementing proper lighting and signage systems that would better position the respective touristic objective.

I am pretty sure that there will be made significant investments in Romania (in the short and mid term)in this regard and the providers of “signs” will definitely have bigger market to sell their goods. After all… we are also a European Capital, therefore we have to reach the standards…..implementing relevant signage systems is only one but important step.
