Opportunity: User generated content for the Romanian real estate market
Steve and Magda have already approached in some previous posts a real issue on the real estate market in our country: the deficit of reliable information. We don’t know the real price of properties and how many people looking for apartments are willing to pay the exaggerated prices on the market.
A solution for better information (as websites containing out-of-date or fabricated announcements do not provide reliable data) would be the creation of a portal containing opinions and facts coming from the experience of those who have acquired/sold any type of property: date of purchase, area, description and state of the property, price, negotiation, etc. Everything under the protection of anonymity. Not all information and statistics have to go public for free, and the company has the opportunity to practice a fee for those interested in finding certain type of information.
This came to my mind after discovering Desprefirme.com, a project dedicated to collect some real information on the companies in Romania from former and current “anonymous” employees, regarding the recruiting process, training and development, working schedule and salary levels, some only available against a small fee etc. The Premium Content for receiving information against payment is, however, still under construction.
The Desprefirme.com project is a great source of information and I just hope that their initiative will not remain unique in Romania.

This gives further credence to the information contained on the website. Laura blogged earlier about a similar website, desprefirme.com, targeted at job seekers and the need for transparent information on the real estate market. High quality services endorsed by happy customers are slowly becoming a firm’s best asset. Hence the opportunity to create similar websites in other areas such as: [...]
