Opportunity: offering general storage space
Following-up on my last post focusing on storage solutions for students… it is important to note that there is no viable storage solution for the greater Romanian market.
Romanians tend to gather a lot of things “in case they need them”. In time, these things start to pile-up and you don’t have room for them anymore. But… you also don’t want to throw them away. Wouldn’t it be very useful to rent a space to store your goods? Wouldn’t it be even better to have someone else come to your house, gather, then transport the things to a safe storage place, saving you time and the hassle of packing?
Unlike residential areas… storage facilities do not require costly, prime real estate; only adequate security. Some facilities in the U.S. are even located under freeway overpasses; a location few other business would consider helping to keep land prices or rent low. Check out Public Storage in the U.S. as a model. They even combine truck rental.
This business is also gaining popularity in Europe. As an unexploited niche of the market the first one entering it will have an essential advantage don’t you think.

I know for sure that our house would need it! However, we need to have fairly easy access to it - at least exchange things in the autumn and in the spring!
