Opportunity: New approach for online stores in Romania
Well… We are quite far from being overwhelmed with the number of online shopping websites in Romania, but someone has already thought to redefine the online store in our country. As the Ghelir founders confess, the idea is not original (see Woot) but it is unique in Romania.
The secret? They sell cool stuff - from laptops and mp3 players to books and jewelry - only one item per day, at a great price deal. They deliver in Bucharest and in the major cities in the country, and guarantee a small price, a promt service and excellent guarantee. What I like is the funny and honest description for each item, as well as the possibility of receiving alerts with the product of the day by email, RSS, or SMS.
However, will this work? The concept is good, the word is spread through blogs and press releases. Plus, they bring on the market one thing the Romanians surely love: cheap & quality stuff!
