Quit smoking?…not “just an idea”

Opportunity: “Social opportunity” to act reasonable and become a healthy, cool human being

I don’t know how difficult is to quit smoking because I never smoked. However, I imagine that like all the other things that are addictive, smoking is difficult to “break-up with”. They say that the most important factor for “quitting smoking” is to have a strong will…and I say that if your will is not strong enough you should look for solutions. I was surprised to read Sara’s blog post about the taxi driver. It is not only a bad example for good customer care but also a total lack of politeness in any type of human relationship.

I am sure that there are many solutions for quit smoking. A very interesting and “easy” one is the solution provided by Vita Nova center. I saw an ad at the metro station about them and I was curious to find more things. Their solution is the bioresonance therapy which is a new type of medicine, they say. They are practically “educating the body” not to be addictive to the nicotine any more.
What makes this solution attractive for the patient is the easiness and the minimum effort that they have to do in order to quit smoking. You need to have only one therapy session that lasts one hour; in this session they add a small chip on the patient abdomen (that looks like a metal coin) that will be taken out after one month. In the “post-treatment” period (after the one hour session) the patient has to drink a lot of liquids (which I don’t think is a problem, considering the weather conditions in Romania) and…..that’s it - you are a non-smoker.

They have centers in 8 cities from Romania (which is good considering that they were established only last year) and they keep expanding.

I’ve learnt not to hate the act of smoking, because, like you say, it’s an addiction, and some addictions may prove to be very strong, although, compared to some addictions like mine (drinking Coke), is dangerous to more than just the person with the addiction.

There’s another thing that I really hate about smokers, a thing that has nothing to do with addictions, psychology and other such uncontrollable things - I hate some of the smokers’ bad habits, like litterign (don’t we all love the orange sidewalks, from all the cig butts!), not caring about second hand smoking (at all) and not trying to restrain from smoking even when there’s no ventilation in the place they’re lighting their cigarette in.

Ever try to put a bio resonance chip on the abdomen of a smoking monkey? You don’t make that mistake twice.

My developer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a number of websites for about a year and am concerned about switching to another platform. I have heard very good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress posts into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated! Thanks!
