Here we are!
We are a group of business consultants all working in Bucharest, Romania. We are a blend of Romanian and U.S. citizens with both extensive experience advising multinational companies and a desire to help form a responsible and successful business community. This country is changing fast - faster than many businesses can keep pace. We have a shared belief that this is a very exciting time to do business in Romania and feel that we have a solid perspective on both the international and Romanian business environment - across a wide variety of industries. Each of us works for SOPOLEC Business Advisory Services, who readily agreed to sponsor this blog.
Our goal for this blog is to introduce the international business community to Romania and its opportunities (and challenges).
On our blog, you will find our opinions on:
- Products many want but cannot find in Romania.
- International ideas that will work in Romania.
- Romanian products and services ready for growth and selling across borders.
- The huge opportunities in the (small-but-quickly-growing) services industries.
- Business opportunites that arise from recent legislation introduced in Romania.
- Opportunities stemming from the significant increase in post-accession European funds.
- Ways to transform existing industries to increase their relevance at the present moment.
- Cross-border trends originating or being adopted in Romania.
Not covered:
- Macroeconomic insight on Romania and developments of its institutional framework (for this you will want to visit the excellent discussion group on Yahoo, romania_economics)
- Analysis of well-established industries (while competitiveness in traditional markets is a major component for any business, we consider that higher profit margins and more interesting things can be accomplished by creating new markets).
